"videography allows you to relive moments"
'A Social Lie' is a short film written, produced, filmed & edited by me for my undergrad final year project.

My short film explores how excessive use of social media can lead to an individual being physically present but mentally absent in their surroundings. The film delves into the impact of social media on mental health, particularly among young adults who spend increasing amounts of time online. The film reflects on my experiences of spending more time on social media than in face-to-face interactions and questions how this affects mental health. The film raises the issue of mental health becoming a prominent concern in recent years, highlighting the importance of not only physical but also mental well-being. It ultimately poses the question, "With the increasing use of social media, how is it compromising our mental health?"

why do I use
instagram reels?
-
Instagram has a massive user base, and Reels can be discovered by a broader audience, including my followers, their followers, and even through the Explore Page. This can help me reach new viewers and potential followers.
-
Reels are short, engaging videos lasting up to 60 seconds which is perfect for capturing quick, attention-grabbing moments and sharing bite-sized content.
-
Reels allow me to get creative with music, effects, filters, and transitions. It's a space to showcase my creativity.
-
I am able to tell a quick story or share a personal experience in a more dynamic way than with static posts, helping me to connect with my audience on a more emotional level.
